14/07/2011 A successful mid-term review for EuCARD: The EuCARD project received excellent feedback from the mid-term review. The EC Project Officer was very impressed with the work being carried out across the project and the quality of the deliverables and management reports. The first Periodic Report has also now been formally accepted and the corresponding EC funding is being distributed to partner institutes.

30/06/2011 T2K result promises detection of leptonic CP violation at accelerators: In the new JPARC off axis muon-neutrino beam, six first electron- neutrino candidates seem to indicate a large, order 10%, mixing for this neutrino conversion on the 295 Km long way to Superkamiokande: thus opening the hunt for leptonic CP-violation, which might be at the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe.
