Transnational
Access
Via European Union Transnational Access funding, EuCARD can help external users to access two major research infrastructures: MICE in the UK and HiRadMat in Switzerland.
Until March 2013, eligible external users can apply for transnational access. The beam will be provided free of charge, and EuCARD will provide support for travel and subsistence expenses.
The two Transnational installations are currently in construction, with completion planned within the lifetime of the EuCARD project. They are as follows:
MICE
The MICE facility at STFC (in the UK) is for experimentalists wishing to investigate muon ionization cooling or to perform tests with high quality low energy beams of muons, electrons, protons or pions.

HiRadMat
The HiRadMat facility at CERN (International Organization) is for experimentalists wishing to investigate the impact of high power (MJ) pulsed proton beams (lengths of a few μs) on materials.
